Color Designer Job Summary Ensures that color samples are developed in accordance with customer specifications at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. This position operates with a high degree of autonomy and requires little to no day-to-day direction. Essential Functions Develops new formulas for color samples which meet customer business and product needs. Utilizes automated systems and technology (SAP, PC, Color Computer, etc.) to develop, diagnose and/or improve processes and resolve customer issues. Completes formulations of color concentrates, Liquid, Freeze-Dri, and Dry Color products in a timely, cost efficient, and effective manner. Records and communicates formulations in a clear and unambiguous manner, noting any special features or requirements. Performs required Quality Control checks on all color matches prior to the shipment of samples. Functions as Quality Associate for samples as required. Develops and maintains a safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions. Ensures that all SAP paperwork is completed properly and accurately. Observes applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment. Attends and participates in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position. Other duties as assigned.
