Salary Range : $37,000- $40,000/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours : 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions Job Summary Provide professional skills in communications, journalism, and marketing activities.
Core Responsibilities - Responsible for the organization and execution of a broad range of communications support to Business Affairs departmental programs and activities, including writing and editing education/promotion materials.
- Provides oversight, direction, and coordination for communications and marketing functions for assigned projects.
- Assists with design and updates for department websites, promotional materials and, as assigned, social media.
- Writes, edits, formats, and assembles documents and publications for the areas within the division of Business Affairs, ensuring that they comply with university and division standards and requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, emails, news articles, press releases, newsletters, social media, and web materials.
- Works with Business Affairs Strategic Communications to create and maintain a uniform image and brand for the division.
- Ensures that the division has a presence at events, as assigned.
- Collects, compiles, and edits data from employee and student audience feedback to assess effectiveness.
- Develops strategies for promoting division programs, services, and opportunities for campus involvement.
- In coordination with the Associate Director of Communications, determine strategies for directing the division's communications efforts.
- Creates, implements, and maintains a digital newsletter for the division.
- Manages a wide variety of email distributions as assigned, through Salesforce and Outlook, maintaining records and analytics as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of experience in communications, writing/editing, public relations, or related field.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and creatively solve complex problems in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience in higher education.
- Experience planning and preparing internal employee communications.
- Experience using Cascade, WordPress, or similar CMS.
- Experience using Salesforce.
- Experience managing social media accounts.
- A high level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, various desktop publishing software, and standard office equipment.

Working Conditions - Hybrid: On-campus & remote, available to come to campus when necessary.
- Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.
- Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
Physical Demands: - Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
This position will require working both
remotely in Texas and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
