Estimator – Ground-Up Commercial Construction

Are you a detail-oriented Estimator with a passion for precision and a strong understanding of commercial construction? We're partnered with a well-established General Contractor in Albuquerque, NM , seeking a talented Estimator to support their growing pipeline of ground-up commercial projects across K-12, Medical, Religious, and Industrial sectors.

The Role:

As Estimator, you’ll play a key role in the preconstruction process—analyzing plans, preparing cost estimates, and helping secure profitable projects that align with the company’s high standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for ground-up commercial construction projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents during preconstruction and bidding phases
• Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing and scope coverage
• Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions to maintain budget targets
• Maintain an up-to-date database of pricing, subcontractors, and material costs
• Conduct risk assessments and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand project requirements
• Support the development of bid packages, proposals, and project schedules
• Ensure estimates align with company goals, client expectations, and industry standards

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as an Estimator in commercial construction , preferably on ground-up projects
• Familiarity with K-12, healthcare, religious, or industrial construction is highly desirable
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst , or similar)
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and contract documents
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Local to Albuquerque, NM – this is an office-based role
