Job Details Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager in the food manufacturing industry. This position plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all procurement activities, including purchasing, inventory management, and vendor contract management. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in supply chain management, with a strong focus on procurement best practices and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our purchasing department, contributing to our company's profitability and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the procurement process, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating contracts.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for services and products.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
- Manage and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality products and timely delivery.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Implement procurement best practices and supply chain operations to improve efficiency.
- Oversee and manage inventory processes to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Utilize data analysis tools, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP, to enhance decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, finance, or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management in a manufacturing or food production environment.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing vendor contracts.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain operations.
- Excellent understanding of inventory processes.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to handle pressure.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Preferred bilingual in Spanish and English.
