Department 425, Electrical Systems Embedded Software Engineering, involves applying software and computer engineering skills to specify, design, develop, integrate, test, and manage subcontracted software development for US Navy Nuclear Submarines. The team collaborates with systems, hardware, and test engineers to develop, test, and maintain software for various submarine platforms. This position supports the power conversion module system, reactor, steam, and electric plant systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Analyzing system-level requirements
• Developing software and interface requirements
• Designing software components that meet requirements and integrating hardware/software
• Developing unit tests
• Supporting verification and validation testing
• Troubleshooting and enhancing existing software
• Creating and maintaining documentation
• Supporting prototype development for R&D projects

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
• 0-3 years relevant experience
• Experience with C++ frameworks
• Ability to follow processes and procedures
• Self-motivated with independent work skills
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills
• Organizational skills
