Job Description

A client of The Intersect Group is seeking a Data Center Technician to add to their team. This person will be supporting a lab environment for installations and cabling.

Responsibilities:

• Install, cable, and connect IT equipment including servers, network devices, storage systems, and power distribution units (PDUs) according to established and industry best practices.
• Perform Physical hardware installations, including racking and stacking equipment, cable management, and labeling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic network connectivity issues related to cabling and physical layer problems.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to ensure timely and successful completion of installation projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all installations, including cable layouts, equipment configurations, and network diagrams.
• Adhere to strict safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Experience Required:

• Experience installing and labeling equipment in a data center.
• Proficiency in interpreting documentation related to cabling, layouts, and network diagrams.
• Experience troubleshooting basic network connectivity issues related to cabling and layer problems.

Hours:

• 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
• ** This individual may have to occasionally work an "on-call" rotation.**
