We are on the lookout for a dynamic and innovative Digital Content Manager to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in crafting our online identity and conveying our mission through compelling and influential digital content. As a member of the Communications team within Umbra, the perfect candidate will bring a robust background in content management, digital marketing, and storytelling, along with an insightful grasp of how to effectively connect with and engage our target audiences across diverse platforms.

Our aim is to hire this position for Umbra's Arlington, VA office location. However, we are open to considering Hybrid applicants located in the VA/DC/MD area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital content strategy that aligns with Umbra’s mission, brand voice, and marketing objectives.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality, engaging, and informative content for various channels, including websites, social media, blogs, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • SEO & Analytics: Implement best practices for search engine optimization (SEO) to enhance online visibility and analyze content performance using key metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Social Media Management: Create and manage our social media strategy, ensuring a consistent brand voice, increasing engagement, and growing our audience across platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Product Development, to ensure that content effectively conveys our value proposition and supports business goals.
  • Digital Campaigns: Assist in the development of digital marketing campaigns, creating content that resonates with target audiences and drives conversion.
  • Brand Messaging: Ensure that all content reflects Umbra’s brand messaging and adheres to established guidelines, maintaining a cohesive narrative across all platforms.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in digital content strategies and tools, applying this knowledge to enhance Umbra’s content outreach.
  • Community Engagement: Build and foster online communities around our brand, encouraging discussions and engagement that drive brand loyalty and advocacy.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in digital content management, digital marketing, or related roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Established expertise in content creation, editorial processes, SEO, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Proficient in using content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, social media tools, and analytics platforms to optimize content and measure performance.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A creative and strategic thinker, with a passion for storytelling and the ability to understand the audience’s perspective.
  • Other professional duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace, defense and/or technology sectors.
  • Experience in public policy a plus.
  • Familiarity with video production and graphic design tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of current trends in digital marketing and social media engagement strategies.

Pay Transparency
This job posting may cover multiple career levels. To ensure greater transparency, we provide base salary ranges for all roles, regardless of location. Our standard pay ranges are based on the role’s function and level, benchmarked against similar growth-stage companies. Compensation may vary based on geographical location, as certain regions may have different cost-of-living factors. The final offer will also be influenced by the candidate's skills, responsibilities, and relevant experience.

Compensation Range

The Compensation Range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000.
