OSP Fiber Optic Technician

We are seeking a skilled OSP Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in terminating, testing, and troubleshooting single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic communication systems . This role requires expertise in various termination techniques for high-speed fiber-based networks, including SONET, CWDM, DWDM, FTTx, and HFC (CATV) .

Key Responsibilities:

• Fiber Termination & Splicing: Perform fusion splicing of both single and ribbonized fiber.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Utilize advanced tools such as OTDRs, power meters, and certification testers to diagnose and resolve fiber optic issues.
• Cable Preparation & Management: Properly handle fiber optic cables and cable management products.
• Network Maintenance: Identify and troubleshoot optical loss issues, including attenuation, dispersion, and reflection .
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure installations meet optical loss budgets and adhere to industry standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in fiber optic testing, splicing, and troubleshooting for OSP networks .
• Experience working with SONET, DWDM, FTTx, and CATV systems .
• Knowledge of fiber optic loss budgets and how to maintain them.
• Ability to use specialized tools, including OTDRs, inspection cameras, and certification testers .
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
