Fiber Technician – Raleigh/Durham Area

Pay: $19-$27 per hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Location: Must live within an hour of Durham, NC
Schedule: 40 hours per week, rotating on-call shifts, including some weekends

About the Role
We are seeking a Fiber Technician to join our team and help build and maintain essential fiber optic infrastructure. This position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing fiber optic cable, ensuring seamless connectivity for customers. If you have experience in telecommunications and enjoy hands-on fieldwork, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic connections and buried drops
Locate and dig to access underground cables
Splice and replace fiber optic cables as needed
Perform restoration work after excavation
Provide excellent customer service and review requested services with clients
Maintain clear communication with supervisors and dispatch regarding work status
Requirements
Minimum one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
Must be at least 18 years old
Valid driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience
Clean driving record (MVR must meet company standards)
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights of 3+ feet
Available for overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
Background check and drug screening required
