The Freight Forwarder, Air Export is a crucial role in the transportation and logistics industry, specializing in managing the exportation of goods via air transport. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing the air export process, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and facilitating the timely and efficient shipment of goods to international destinations. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Manage and coordinate the export process for goods via air transportation. 

Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. 

Prepare and review export documentation, including airway bills, commercial invoices, and export declarations. 

Ensure accuracy and compliance with international trade and customs regulations. 

Ensure adherence to customs regulations and procedures for air cargo exports. 

Address and resolve any customs-related issues or delays. 

Coordinate with airlines to book cargo space and negotiate favorable export rates. 

Optimize routing and carrier selection for cost-effective and timely shipments. 

Communicate with clients to gather shipment details, provide status updates, and address inquiries. 

Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction. 

Collaborate with service providers, including airlines, ground handlers, and customs brokers. 

Negotiate terms, resolve operational issues, and maintain strong vendor relationships. 

Negotiate airfreight rates with carriers to achieve competitive pricing. 

Evaluate and select the most suitable airfreight solutions for each export shipment. 

Identify and resolve issues related to shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies. 

Implement corrective actions and preventative measures. 


Educational background / Work experience 

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. 

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in air export operations. 

Familiarity with airfreight processes, customs regulations, and international trade. 


Skills & Competencies 

In-depth knowledge of air export procedures and documentation. 

Strong understanding of customs regulations and compliance. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. 

Proficiency in using logistics and transportation management software. 


Preferred Qualifications 

Certification in airfreight operations or customs compliance. 

Previous experience with airfreight carriers, ground handlers, or customs brokerage. 

Familiarity with customs automation systems. 

Language skills 

Fluent in English (oral and written) 

Computer Literacy 

Proficient in using logistics and transportation management software. 

Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). 

Ability to adapt to new technology platforms used in air export operations and logistics.
