Summary

The Painter/Shot blaster will operate our air powered, grit blaster to remove rust/slag and other unwanted properties, preparing the surfaces for coating and applying industrial coatings of paint as required. Painter/Shot blaster will need to have good work ethics, positive attitudes, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. The right candidate will

• Is a safety minded worker who is drug free and dependable with an excellent attendance record
• Reports and/or corrects all unsafe conditions immediately
• Responsible for the maintenance and inventory of supplies associated with shot-blast and painting.
• Completes all necessary shot blast operations and mixes and applies product coatings to specification.
• Masks off components and surfaces that are not to be blasted or painted, plugs all piping and tubing to prevent contamination.
• Inspects, monitors and adjusts all equipment used to ensure proper safe working conditions.
• Issues, receives, orders, turns in of unserviceable tools, stores and maintains parts and coatings inventory associated with the shot blasting and painting.
• Performs cyclic inventories of materials and coatings
• Performs clean up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc. from the entire facility when necessary.
• Moves and distributes equipment, and parts using the fork truck, crane, or other material handling equipment
• Completes forms, routers and related paperwork
• Participates in field service work as assigned
• Be able to follow customer requests.
• Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist or perform functions in alternate areas of the business

What you’ll need

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Related experience
• Be able to stand, crouch, kneel and climb stairs for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail and ability follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic math and computer skills
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Drug Screen and Physical Capacity Profile Test.
