The Opportunity

The Market Leader - Oil & Gas will have the opportunity to coordinate and drive growth in our priority markets, in collaboration with the Solution Leaders, Sector/Segment Leaders and Sales Leaders as appropriate. Build strong strategic relationships with Sector/Segment Leadership.

The Team

Black & Veatch’s Infrastructure Advisory is an integrated portfolio of strategic consulting and operation resiliency services that apply across the client’s entire investment-to-operations lifecycle commitments. Included are Strategic Advisory, Industrial Cybersecurity, and Operating Assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create 2-way linkage between Infrastructure Advisory & Segments
  • Understand market trends, key issues, and buying practices 
  • Lead BV growth aspirations when appropriate
  • Develop internal (Client Segment Leader) & external (Clients) relationships
  • Participate in and influence key account planning
  • Drive industry and client insights
  • Influence marketing activity, market presence, & client positioning
  • Trusted advisor to Client Segment Leaders for where to focus, which clients, honest dialogue on capabilities, and follow-through, market expertise
  • Maintain connection to enterprise sales approaches
  • Market vertical pipeline management
  • Partner with Enterprise Innovation to ensure investment in new/leading innovative solutions are targeted at our clients needs/planned growth areas
  • Build relationships with regional leaders and segment leaders, establishing a meeting cadence to understand Regional/Subregional strategy in response to changing market/client needs
  • Work with Cient Account Mangers, Client Segment Leaders, and Enterprise Evolution on strategic account management, clarity on playbook, and client zippering to avoid redundancy with CAMS & Client Segment Leads
  • Joint accountability with Solution Leaders & Solutions Portfolio Leaders regarding pursuits

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically 15+ years in a business/consulting environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience. 
  • Has successfully managed multiple engagements simultaneously. Contributor or lead to acquire new engagements.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business development of 5+ years preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Certifications related to areas of expertise, where applicable preferred
  • Understanding of Oil & Gas Markets
  • Track record of driving sustained business growth
  • BD and sales acumen and track record of profitable growth
  • Ability to influence and become ‘trusted advisor’
  • Ability to pitch new solutions to clients
