Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Medstat Inc. [a Credence Global Solutions company]has 3 openings for the position of Charge Poster / Medical Billing Specialist, at our Mesa, AZ location.

Position Summary :

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, and ensuring accurate claims submission. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, billing systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities :

• Ensure the patient’s information is kept confidential, accurate and up to date.
• Follow and adhere to all regulations and guidelines set by state and federal programs, as well as commercial plans - HMO/PPO, etc.
• Confirm patient insurance eligibility.
• Prepare and timely submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.
• Examine patient superbills for accuracy and requesting any missing information.
• Handle and answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries.
• Maintains quality results by following standards.
• File and maintain organized documentation of all billing and record

Knowledge Areas & Requirements :

• Demonstrated knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS
• Experience in EMR/EHR systems is a plus
• Familiarity with payer policies, EOBs, and insurance claims processes.
• Candidates must be able to work with high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Computer skills required to operate practice management system (i.e., use Window operating system, conduct Internet searches, communicate by email, etc.)
• Prioritization and multi-task skills are a must
• Working knowledge of current Microsoft Office applications
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
