Penn Tank Lines is searching for a full-time Operations Supervisor to add to its team to manage driver planning and load assignments at our terminal located in Indianapolis, IN. This position will ensure efficient utilization of assets, having a direct impact on driver and terminal profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The right candidate for this position will be successful in an environment where the work is highly precise and helpful in nature, requires strong attention to detail, and a professional, pleasant manner when interacting with drivers and customers. Responsibilities of our Operations Supervisors: Oversees the daily activities of Drivers assigned to their shift and is the first point of contact to provide guidance to Drivers making deliveries Monitors and manages store petroleum inventories while evaluating and building loads Collaborates with suppliers to work through allocation and supply challenges Ensures organization and proper sequence of loads delivered to maximize efficiency Continually analyzes stations to identify potential delivery issues related to traffic, allocation, and driver's available hours of service to ensure operational efficiency and profitability Maintains customer expectations of sourcing and on-time deliveries Forecasts customer needs and proactively ensures no service failures Reports on all service-related matters to Terminal Management May assist with daily log reviews and address violations May assist the Terminal Manager with equipment maintenance scheduling and tracking Qualifications of our Operations Supervisors: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to build loads to maximize operational efficiency Excellent written and verbal communication skills A pleasant and professional demeanor with the ability to multi-task A strong customer focus with the ability to follow tasks through to completion Ability to work independently and exercise judgement in both regular and unique situations Strong geographical knowledge of the area Strong skill base and comfort with technology including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel; experience with routing or dispatching systems a plus Some scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the operation Requirements of our Operations Supervisors: High School Diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a Customer Service role where attention to detail, a sense of urgency, problem solving, and using independent judgement to solve problems was required A college degree (Bachelor's or Associate's) or some coursework toward a degree is preferred Military experience with fuel / logistics / transportation is a plus Previous management or leadership experience is a plus Penn Tank Lines is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race/color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, medical history, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.
