Ratio 15:1 kids/teacher and hours are 7:30am-4pm

Pre-Kindergarten Teacher
Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Provides high quality early childhood instruction in Pre-Kindergarten classroom setting in accordance with TEA Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
- Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of Core Academic Subjects assigned
- Knowledge of Curriculum and Instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Certification/Experience:
- Must meet one or more of the qualifications below.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certification for Early Childhood or PK ESL Certification and/or
- Acceptance in an approved Alternative Certification Program (ACP) and have passed the required prerequisite examinations for Early Childhood or Pre-K and/or
- One year of Pre-K teaching experience (If not Certified, a commitment to enroll in an Alternative Certification Program, funding assistance is available as a benefit).
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Instructional Strategies -
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfil the requirements of the Texas standards curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Emphasis on Science Technology Engineering and Math subjects.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations. - Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Collaborates extensively with teachers and aids to develop and deliver appropriate and effective educational activities and services to students who are at risk or have special needs.
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
- Plan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and volunteer(s) and oversee completion.
- Student Growth and Development -
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
- Be a positive role model for students; support mission of school district.
- Classroom Management and Organization
- Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Communication -
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Professional Growth and Development -
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Additional Duties -
- Any and all other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.
- Supervisory Responsibilities -
- Direct the work of assigned instructional aide(s).

Lower-School STEM Teacher
Position Overview:
A Lower School STEM Teacher is responsible for educating students to Texas State standards with additional emphasis in the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
The role requires a dynamic and innovative individual who is passionate about fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM disciplines among children. The teacher will create engaging lesson plans that integrate scientific principles, technological concepts, engineering practices, and mathematical reasoning, aiming to develop a solid foundation for future academic success and career opportunities in STEM fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive and interdisciplinary STEM curriculum that aligns with state and national standards.
- Lesson Planning: Create detailed lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, experiments, and interactive projects to make learning enjoyable and effective.
- Instruction: Deliver lessons using a variety of instructional techniques to facilitate understanding and retention of STEM concepts.
- Assessment: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students' progress and understanding of the material.
- Classroom Management: Maintain an organized and conducive learning environment, employing strategies to manage student behavior and promote positive interactions.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of new teaching methods, technologies, and advancements in STEM education.
- Parent Involvement: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress. Work with staff and school administrators to create a successful learning environment for all students.
- Community Involvement: Involve the community and school partners in STEM-related activities and events to enhance your classroom learning experience.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administrators to integrate STEM across the curriculum and participate in school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A Teaching Credential or Certification in Elementary Education is required.
- Experience: 5+ years prior experience Teaching at the Elementary Level or working in the STEM industry or subjects, is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the US and pass a Drug and Background Check.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of STEM subjects and the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Creativity in lesson planning and the ability to incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
- Organizational skills to manage a classroom and prepare instructional materials.

Job Environment:
- The Elementary School STEM Teacher typically works in a well-equipped classroom environment conducive to learning. Future state of the role may involve occasional field trips, science fairs, and STEM-related extracurricular activities, requiring some travel and additional hours beyond the standard school day.
- Perform necessary duties including but not limited to carpool; lunch and recess; special event set-up, tear-down, and attendance; training and staff meetings; student assessments, documentation, and communication; and any other campus needs.
- Collaboration with fellow teachers and participation in professional development workshops are integral parts of the job.
