Aerospace Manufacturing Quality Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Aerospace Manufacturing Quality Inspector to ensure that all products meet industry and company standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting aerospace components and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering specifications, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of quality control processes, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Aerospace Manufacturing Quality Inspector to ensure that all aerospace components and assemblies meet strict quality standards and engineering specifications. This role involves conducting detailed inspections using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, precision measuring tools, and quality assurance methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, regulatory requirements, and quality control techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of aerospace parts, components, and assemblies at various stages of manufacturing (incoming, in-process, and final inspections) to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, blueprints, and GD&T requirements..
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), and gauges to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  • Document and report non-conformances and collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) per AS9102 standards and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare detailed reports for quality audits and compliance checks.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes to improve manufacturing quality.
  • Ensure adherence to AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace quality standards in all inspection processes.
  • Support supplier quality inspections and audits as needed.
  • Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues in real-time.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing quality inspection or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and CMM programming (preferred).
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies is beneficial.
