CART Screener (Child Adolescent Response Team)

Summary: Conduct screening interviews for children in crisis to make a recommendation regarding the level of care response and referral resources to deescalate the crisis.

Position Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Essential Functions:

• Provide CART screening interview to persons who call or present to the clinic in crisis.
  
• Collect necessary data to assess crisis needs, including demographics, imminent danger, details of child/youth crisis event, and substance abuse issues.

• Input this information into electronic health record.

• Make a recommendation for disposition to next, least restrictive, appropriate level of care or needed referral source.

• Maintain a person centered approach, understanding that the child/youth crisis is determined by the caller.

• Complete all needed paperwork concurrently to assist with the resolution of the crisis event.
  
• Promptly record all interactions on Service Log.
  
• Verbal staffing with face to face assessor when a face to face visit is needed

• Maintains and submit proof of active auto liability insurance for privately owned vehicles used to conduct agency business and/or transport agency clients. Employees must submit proof of insurance prior to employment and each time policy is renewed thereafter. Failure to maintain active coverage and submit proof may result in disciplinary action.

Supervisory Responsibility: No

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a social Service Field and 1-3 years of experience is required. Working knowledge of computers and software is required. Must possess a Louisiana driver’s license and have access to an insured automobile.
