Job Description

Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial services organization, are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join their dynamic team.

This opportunity will be fully on site for the first 90 days, then transition to a hybrid schedule. (2 days in office, 3 from home.)

Position Overview:

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in key areas such as Palo Alto firewalls, AWS Cloud Networking, BGP Routing, and Terraform. You will lead initiatives in these domains, serving as a subject matter expert representing the Network Team. This role involves applying best practices in building new cloud technologies, troubleshooting application and connection issues, and contributing to the team's success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize a minimum of 6 years of experience in Network Architecture and Design.
• Demonstrate expertise in Palo Alto Security NGFW's, including configuration, migrations, tuning, and customization of features.
• Advanced understanding of BGP Routing is essential.
• Configure Web Application Firewalls and diagnose/resolve network issues in a cloud environment (AWS).
• Hands-on experience with F5 Big-IP Load-Balancer is a plus.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing infrastructure support and contributing to technology architecture design.
• Engage in root cause analysis, debugging, and post-mortem analysis for security incidents and service interruptions.
• Showcase excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Network Architecture and Design.
• Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewalls and AWS Networking.
• Preferred experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools for automating and managing infrastructure across cloud environments.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud technologies (EC2, VPC, Load-balancers, CloudFront, Route53, S3, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with F5 Big-IP Load-Balancer and Wireshark or other protocol analyzers.
• Ability to work on-site for the first 90 days, followed by a hybrid schedule.
