Electrical Reliability Test Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA

About the Role:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, focusing on validating the reliability and performance of inverters at both system and component levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reliability Testing: Design, execute, and analyze reliability tests for electric vehicle inverters.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve design, integration, and reliability issues.
• Test Equipment Development: Develop new test equipment to simulate real-world electrical, thermal, and mechanical stresses experienced by inverters and their components.
• Instrumentation and Characterization: Perform instrumentation and characterization of the electrical, mechanical, and thermal behavior of inverters.
• Documentation: Develop test specifications, procedures, and documentation for reliability validation tests.
• Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on test findings, failure analysis, and recommendations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on work experience in power electronics, inverter design, and reliability testing.
• Knowledge of power electronics and semiconductor components, particularly MOSFETs and IGBTs.
• Proven experience in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic circuits.
• Proficiency in using test equipment, including oscilloscopes, curve tracers, digital multimeters (DMMs), hipot testers, power analyzers, and source meters.
• Experience with electronic design and simulation software, such as Altium or LTspice.

Nice to Have Skills and Experience:

• Programming in Python (object-oriented programming).
• Experience with Jira for ticketing.
• Experience with Confluence for documentation

Compensation:

$50/hr to $65/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
