Job Description
The Wire EDM Programmer is responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs for Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of EDM principles, tooling, and programming software. Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for Wire EDM machines using CAD/CAM software
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D models to determine machining requirements.
- Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters for various materials and applications.
- Set up and operate Wire EDM machines, including loading and unloading parts.
- Perform test cuts and make necessary adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues.
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate records of programs, tooling, and setup procedures.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance programming and machining efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts to verify conformance to specifications.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Wire EDM technologies and techniques.
