Overview The Boston Green New Deal (GND) is The Mayor's vision for the future of Boston as a City that benefits from our collective action on climate change. As a commitment to the people of Boston, the GND is a framework for city government that focuses on reducing climate pollution and preparing for climate threats by implementing strategies that address social, economic, and racial inequity. The City of Boston’s Environment Department is seeking a Climate Innovation Analyst to support the implementation of the City’s ambitious climate agenda. As Boston advances high-impact climate initiatives, this role is critical in driving operational, analytical, and collaborative efforts across departments and stakeholders. The Climate Innovation Analyst will support the Environment Department’s mission by aligning city-wide initiatives with the goals outlined in Boston’s Climate Action Plan and Green New Deal priorities. The Climate Innovation Analyst will play a key role in advancing Boston’s climate goals by coordinating cross-departmental projects, supporting data tracking and performance management, and conducting research on innovative solutions and best practices. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Climate Innovation Analyst will ensure effective collaboration and progress on various initiatives including climate justice, energy transformation, and decarbonizing the built environment. This position also involves preparing presentations, reports, and other materials to communicate progress, milestones, and recommendations to City leadership and external partners. The Climate Innovation Analyst supports the work of the Director of Climate Action Innovation and Analytics and serves as an integral member of the Environment Department’s team driving Boston’s climate leadership. The Climate Innovation Analyst will initially be responsible for research and analysis across the City, and it is expected that they will eventually develop a portfolio of topics and projects to lead.
