Job Description

A well established, highly reputable food company strives to provide our customers with great tasting products that meet the newest guidelines for breakfast, lunch, after-school, and summer. They work tirelessly to ensure that all of our products are in line with the ever-evolving nutritional regulations, without sacrificing taste and quality. They are actively looking to hire a Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for managing their shift's Quality Assurance programs. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company, customer and government procedures. This role will be inspecting and audit the operation in all phases of quality performance (raw materials, production, packaging, distribution, HACCP, GMP’s, etc.). Relocation is available for this position in Syosset, NY.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out QA policies, procedures, and directives in the development of and compliance with company, customer, and government expectations while providing feedback and required follow up to ensure proper corrective action.
  • Participate with customer audits and annual SQF audits
  • Maintain quality programs such as Pest Control, Self-Inspection, Supplier Management, Safety, Microbio Testing and Defense.
  • Conduct pre-shipment review, CCP’s, validation studies, report on deficiencies for GMP’s, HACCP and SSOP’s
  • Work with Plant Manager and Sanitation Manager to ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of facility, equipment and grounds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited College or university
  • 5+ years of quality control experience; in a food-manufacturing environment
  • HACCP and SQF Certified (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of quality processes related to the food-processing equipment and industry.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, SSOP and SOP.
  • Knowledge of USDA and FDA standards.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
