This role involves reviewing applications for insurance coverage, determining the terms and conditions of policies, and making decisions about whether to approve or decline coverage based on risk assessments and company guidelines. The Underwriter utilizes statistical data, financial statements, and other relevant information to make informed decisions, ensuring that policies are both competitive and profitable for the organization. Learns advanced principles and policies of underwriting. Responsible for accurately developing individual and/or employer group rates with minimal guidance from manager. Works with the sales department to finalize rates and develop appropriate benefit alternatives as appropriate. Education Bachelor's level degree Certification/Licensure No specific certification or licensure requirements Experience Health Underwriting - 2 years Required Must have experience in large group underwriting Preferred experience in prospect rating, renewal rating, and self-funding We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is: $53,248 - $88,753.
